Who multi-engine training is for
A multi-engine rating adds "Airplane Multi-Engine Land" to an existing pilot certificate. Pilots typically pursue it for one of three reasons: a professional flying career (nearly all airline and charter flying is multi-engine), access to faster and more capable travel aircraft, or completing a commercial certificate pathway. Training focuses on engine-out aerodynamics, single-engine procedures, and the decision-making that makes twin flying safe.
Likely training pathways when the program opens
Based on standard Part 61 practice, the program is expected to serve: private or commercial pilots adding the multi-engine class rating, commercial students finishing multi-engine requirements, and CFIs pursuing MEI. Exact pathways will be published only when they are confirmed.

What can I do now to prepare for a multi-engine rating?
Finish the certificate the rating will attach to. For most pilots that means completing a private or commercial certificate and building solid single-engine proficiency — all of which we teach today at KPVG in Chesapeake.
